acid pump

The acid pump are designed to transfer liquids to and from a reservoir containing liquid. They can be utilized for a variety of purposes. The manufacturing of foods and beverages, the cleaning and disinfecting of equipment, and the delivery of fluids to hospitals are some of the most common applications.

PVC heavy duty siphon pump

The Braude Heavy Duty pump and pressure vessels pump is a short coupled transfer pump manufactured in high integrity polymers. It is suitable for applications where aggressive chemical or corrosive solutions are present. For these applications, mechanical seals are available. These include double water flushed seals for general chemical transfer as well as water regulating kits for water.

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is the material of choice in pump construction. It has high physical properties and is relatively inexpensive. However, it is attacked by solvents and chlorinated hydrocarbons. This makes it unsuitable for use at temperatures above 140degF.

Another option is polyvinyl difluoride (PVDF). While not quite as robust as PVC, PVDF maintains its strength at temperatures as low as -40degF.

Mechanism of action of proton pump inhibitors

Proton pump inhibitors (PPI) are a class of drugs used to treat acid-related disorders. These drugs inhibit the action of a hydrogen-potassium ATPase on the apical membrane of gastric parietal cells. They are the most commonly prescribed drugs for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and peptic ulcer disease.

Although PPIs are safe, they can have significant side effects. One of the most common adverse effects of PPIs is the increased risk of Clostridium difficile infections. Another is the potential for hypocalcemia and pneumonia. Other adverse reactions include abdominal pain, constipation, headache, dizziness, and diarrhea.

The mechanism of action of proton pump inhibitors is a bit less well understood than other classes of drugs. In particular, it is unclear how the inhibitors interact with H+/K+-ATPase and what role they play in gastric acid secretion.

Drug interactions at the CYP level

The cytochrome P-450 (CYP) is a superfamily of microsomal enzymes that catalyze thousands of substrates in more than 60 different reactions. CYPs are essential for eukaryotic life, and they play a crucial role in protecting organisms from potentially toxic compounds.

Proton pump inhibitors, or PPIs, are a group of drugs that can inhibit CYP isoenzymes. They differ from H2-receptor antagonists in that they are less likely to alter CYP activity. However, their interactions with other drugs can vary.

In the last decade, a number of drug interaction papers have been published involving PPIs. These include studies on omeprazole and pantoprazole-Na. A review of these data concluded that esomeprazole and racemic omeprazole's interaction potentials are comparable, and that the risk of a CYP-mediated interaction with lansoprazole is low.
